Many schools and teachers engage in balanced literacy instruction, which provide students with the opportunity to learn through a variety of ways and materials. But, how does engaging in balanced literacy instruction change when in a Spanish Bilingual setting? With 250+ schools providing bilingual education programs in CPS, this session will focus on defining balanced literacy in the Spanish bilingual setting and what shifts in instruction are necessary in order to build literacy in Spanish.
